Mike Butler, a native of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, is a self-taught artist using watercolor as his primary medium.
Though Mike wanted to pursue art, it took a secondary role to his primary career in the military (twenty years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Europe for 10 of those years). Mike has developed his own technique and style, heavily influenced by the German and Dutch countryside, and the old style art of those countries.
Mike draws inspiration from his surroundings in the Ozark Mountains and prefers to paint landscapes with old farmhouses - usually set in the Fall and Winter months, creating a mood ireflecting the season.
All of Mike’s landscapes have his unique trademark; three birds flying in heavy, cloud laden skies.
